[ In his current state of mind it certainly wouldn't take much convincing... Drake always feels inclined. The only reason he behaves as much as he does is to protect his contract partners, and that situation has just gotten really complicated and depressing.
For now it just feels nice to be affectionate with someone he cares about. He nods agreeably, letting her slip away as he heads to sit by the machine.
When she comes back ready to glove up he's got a few photos out for her to look at, along with a scrap of thick textured paper that looks like it was torn from a sketchbook. ]
You've gotta help me figure out the where and how of this one, I only know the what.
Well, I guess for starters we better look at the real estate I got to work with.
[ there's a more pointed look she's wearing now as she gestures to him with the sweep of one hand, presumably in an effort to get him to strip off at least what's covering his upper half. she knows he has other ink on him already, so the trick now is mapping out everything that already exists and figuring out where to incorporate this new design — or deciding to put it somewhere wholly new. ]
And is it the kinda thing you want to be able to see easily, or does that part not really matter?
[ she slips on the gloves with the corresponding snap against one wrist, tilting her head slightly as her gaze rakes over him without any real signs of ogling — she's gone into tattooer mode now, so she can focus more on where best to add this new design to his skin. ]
[ Drake grins, setting his references down and pulling his shirt over his head -- it's largely unnecessary since he could've just rolled his sleeve up to do the part he knows he wants, but maybe Harley's got some better placement ideas for the others. Just as she's seen already, he's got numbers on each collarbone and more artistic pieces on both biceps. One a bear claw drawn in Celtic knotwork, the other a heart and clover. Then there's the flowing script along his ribs on the right side.
They're all plain black, bold but simple lines, and what he's about to describe to Harley fits with that aesthetic. With his shirt off she can see his engagement ring hanging from the chain around his neck -- he sifts through the photos and offers her one of a hand with thick black bands around the fingers. ]
I want a memorial band, but that looks like my ring. Maybe do it with like... negative space, that's what it's called, right?
[ When he holds up the ring he's wearing, she'll see it has an infinity knot design etched in the silver and stained black. ]
So all black except the knots? And then this, somewhere. Dunno where. I wanna be able to see it, though.
[ And he passes the scrap of sketchbook paper. In tight, neat handwriting, reads:
thank you. love you.
Drake has other pictures he hasn't shown her yet and a few more ideas for how to make it look complete and intentional, but he waits for her input on just this, first. The most important part. ]
